Attire Guide

Our wedding is outdoors and the vibe is dressy summer casual. We have strong feelings about what we'd love to see — please take a few minutes to read through this before choosing your outfit!

Our Color Palette

Please wear warm, vibrant colors. We'd love to see reds, oranges, yellows, and greens.

✓ Do

  • Wear reds, oranges, yellows, greens, or gold
  • Dress elegantly but comfortably — flowing dresses, linen suits, smart separates
  • Wear chunky heels, wedges, or stylish sandals
  • Bring a light wrap or layer for the evening

✗ Don't

  • Wear dark colors — black, navy, dark grey, etc.
  • Wear stilettos or thin heels — you'll be on grass and dirt
  • Wear white or anything that could be mistaken for bridal

What to Expect

🌤 Weather

August in Connecticut will be warm during the day — around 85°F — but it cools down nicely once the sun sets, dropping to the low 70s by 8 PM. A light wrap or jacket for the evening is a good idea.

👟 Footwear

The ceremony and reception are entirely outdoors on grass and dirt paths. No stilettos or thin heels — you will sink and you will regret it. Chunky heels, wedges, block heels, or dressy sandals are all perfect.

🌿 Setting

We're celebrating in our backyard. There's a tent and our porches for shade, but plan for a fully outdoor experience all evening. Comfortable, practical, and beautiful is the goal.
